Four generations, one farmhouse

Our family planted these vines in 1912. In 2019, we opened the doors so you could wake up beside them.

A house that was always meant to be full

For most of its life, this farmhouse hosted harvest crews, cousins and neighbors around a long kitchen table. The hotel simply made that official.

When Clara Lindqvist-Hayes came home in 2017, the roof leaked, the cellar was full of old tractor parts and the vines still produced some of the best Cabernet on the valley floor. Two years of careful restoration kept the original fir beams, redwood siding and 22-inch stone walls, while adding everything a guest needs to sleep well and slow down.

How we got here

  1. 1894

    A farmhouse for grape growers

Swedish immigrants Anders and Britta Lindqvist build a redwood farmhouse and a hand-dug stone cellar on forty acres north of Napa.

  2. 1912

    The first Cabernet

Anders plants eleven acres of Cabernet Sauvignon. Some of those rootstocks still produce fruit for our estate wine.

  3. 1976

    Three generations on

The family sells its grapes to neighboring wineries and turns the packing barn into a workshop for the valley's first cooperative.

  4. 2019

    The house opens its doors

Clara Lindqvist-Hayes returns from London hotels to restore the farmhouse, cellar and barn as a 28-room hotel.

What we care about

  • Farm first

We farm our vines organically, compost everything from the kitchen and plan menus around the garden, not the other way around.

  • Warm, not formal

No scripts. Our team learns your name, your coffee order and which winery you loved yesterday.

  • Good neighbors

We buy from small valley producers, pay above living wage and close the restaurant one night a year for a staff harvest dinner.

The people you'll meet

A team of 46, most of whom live within 15 minutes of the house.
